Digital Media Coordinator Intern

Position Summary

The Digital Media Coordinator supports the I&C team across all departments by performing tasks related to media strategy (planning, placement), digital strategy (Email, SEO, Website UX) and analytics (tracking, analysis, optimizations). They work with assigned accounts and manage day-to-day projects to make sure that deliverables are met. The Digital Media Coordinator is expected to be an active participant on assigned accounts; consistently engaged and contributing ideas and insights that will benefit clients.

Position Responsibilities

Demonstrates behavior expected of a professional member of the organization, including but not limited to:

  • Media Coordination
    • Learn to develop insertion orders using Advantage software
    • Work with PM teams to manage material deadlines
    • Work with PM teams on plan asset development by providing and maintaining technical specs/ direction as needed
    • Update media schedule flowchart as needed
    • Provide support for media strategy and planning/buying teams as needed; assist with presentation preparations
    • Perform competitive analysis and reporting as requested
    • Maintain media vendor information/contact database
  • Digital tasks
    • Learn ad trafficking via Doubleclick
    • Assist with paid search & banner campaigns reporting as needed
    • Assist with analytics reporting as needed
    • Learn and utilize analytics measurement tools for client reporting (Google Analytics, Google Ad Words, DoubleClick ad server, DoubleClick DSP)
  • Social Media tasks
    • Monitor engagements with paid and organic social media posts for client reporting
    • Monitor social media listening tool for competitive intelligence and client mentions
  • Email Marketing tasks
    • Assist/Manage process of loading HTML emails into iContact for CRM series
    • Test emails to ensure executional success
    • Schedule email sends with vendors based on best practices
    • Gather data from emails sends and pass along to Director of Analytics
  • Website UX tasks
    • Responsible for general usability testing and QA on launching websites
    • Perform monthly testing of website forms to ensure functionality
    • Confirm sync with iContact for CRM series
  • General tasks
    • Research issues related to healthcare and pharmaceutical marketing
    • Research healthcare trends and opportunities and provide relevant updates to client and agency teams
    • Work with agency teams to provide guidance on client requests or ad hoc research
  • Participates in professional growth and development
    • Attends Company sponsored in-services and/or continuing education
    • Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations as necessary

Participates in other activities:

  • Perform other job duties as assigned
  • Cross-train in other positions as requested


Position Requirements


  • Working knowledge of Business, Marketing, Advertising or Communication preferred


  • Experience working with/within healthcare and pharmaceutical clients preferred


  • Must be available 40 hours per week, 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
  • Must be available for the entire 12 week program from May 14th to August 3rd 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient skills in MS Office:  Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal communication and ability to work as part of a team
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with numbers and analytical thinking
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
