Position summary:

The Account Supervisor will independently manage a large account or several small-to-midsize accounts, driving the program(s) strategically and tactically, including all aspects of program management (timeline, resource, budget, and contingency planning). They will be responsible for managing junior team members. They will be well organized, able to multi-task and prioritize, and possess excellent written, oral, interpersonal communication skills, and expert program management skills.  5 – 7 years experience in promotional medical education is required.

Tactical experience as project lead or co-lead for the following:

  • Speaker Bureau (live and virtual): versed in process flow, required logistics, content development, sales force training
  • Symposia/Product Theaters: KOL and content management, drivers and metrics
  • Congress activities (booth, meet the speakers, etc.)
  • KOL identification and management
  • Print and digital content deliverables: case studies, monographs, syllabus, posters, abstracts, publications
  • Advisory Boards: agenda/content development, KOL management, FMV and contracts, onsite management
  • Websites: disease state and branded
  • Non-personal promotion: banner ads, advertorials

Client Service:

  • Manage/coordinate all aspects of individual projects within a large account, and/or multiple small accounts
  • Ensure that creative and scientific output is on strategy, on message, and clearly exceeds client’s expectations
  • Demonstrate solid understanding of client therapeutic area
  • Draft and edit documents with regard to content, tone, and style
  • Lead client conference calls and meetings
  • Manage all financial aspects of assigned accounts (budget development, drafting Work Orders, budget tracking and reporting)
  • Leads development of client quarterly reviews and account planning process
  • Keep the full internal team/Account Director informed of all internal and potential client issues
  • Manage third-party vendor communications
  • Fosters a positive and productive team atmosphere
  • Responsible for the supervision, training and development of junior staff members
  • Ability to identify key opportunities/issues and provide strategic and tactical recommendations to help client achieve promotional medical education goals
  • Demonstrate confidence and knowledge in presenting during new business pitches
  • Participate in the creation of new business proposals through research, brainstorms, and articulation of strategies and tactics

Talent & Knack

  • Bachelor degree (minimum), preferably in the marketing, communications, or health sciences fields
  • Promotional medical education experience is mandatory
  • Thorough understanding of the Medical/Legal Review process
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills are required
  • Adapt to variations in workload and working conditions while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor
  • Be willing/able to travel to client meetings/events
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical/healthcare and agency industry
  • Thorough understanding of marketing, communications planning, and branding
  • A thorough knowledge of all marketing channels and an understanding of how they work in conjunction with each other to drive behavior
  • Extensive experience working with creative and technical development of digital marketing solutions, technology, and emerging media in an agency environment
  • Ability to handle account team training, supervision, and development
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
